Design Objectives
  • Compact two-storey home.
  • Needed to accommodate undercover parking for two cars.
  • Needed to maximise the north facing sun for the yard, pool and eating areas.
  • Incorporate and indoor and outdoor living zone.

Project Challenges
  • Compact site.
  • Had an objecting neighbour who did not want anything contemporary on site.
  • Local area had mainly californian bungalows and post war single storey homes.

Lifestyle Outcomes
  • Open plan living zone facing north with direct access to an undercover BBQ and entertainment area.
  • Trees have created a great sense of privacy.
  • Gets the morning sun and afternoon west light is filtered through tall louvers.
